Mounties from Beiseker and Airdrie rural RCMP and fire crews attended the scene. In a news release earlier this morning, the RCMP noted that 19 cars were off the tracks.

"Fire and CN are en route. This derailment does not impact traffic, but please avoid the area," RCMP added on Friday morning.

Initially, 511 Alberta's map marked the incident on its online map, though it is no longer visible as of Friday evening.

Rocky View County Fire Services responds

Rocky View County Fire Services responded to the train derailment, according to a statement posted on Friday on the County's website.

"Crews are on scene assisting with security and containment. No injuries have been reported. The derailment was isolated to a farmer's field and no roads have been impacted and are open," the County noted.

However, the County stated that 14 cars containing household goods and empty petroleum cars seemed to be impacted.

"There have been no leaks and no hazards to report. The scene is secure and monitored by the RCMP. CN Rail is managing the incident and the cleanup. Rocky View Fire Service crews remain on the scene for assistance. Fortis is responding to the damaged power lines."

There is no word on the cause of the derailment.
