Police in Winnipeg are seeking suspects involved in an altercation on a transit bus in which one of the people involved pulled out a gun.

The Winnipeg Police Service says just after midnight on Friday officers responded to reports of a male with a firearm on a transit bus near Graham Avenue and Smith Street. The intersection is directly outside the WPS Headquarters.

Police learned that several male suspects were seen handling what appeared to be a firearm while onboard the bus.

The situation escalated into a physical confrontation, during which the weapon was pointed indiscriminately within the vehicle.

After the altercation, one of the suspects demanded to be let off the bus.

The operator complied, allowing the individuals believed to be involved to flee the scene before officers arrived. No injuries were reported.

The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation. At this time, no arrests have been made.
