The HTA Knights plowed through the W.H. Croxford High Cavaliers with a 47-0 shutout victory during their zone 2 finals on Friday night (Nov. 1).
Like all season long, the Knights piled on the yards, with 233 rushing and 174 in the air for 407 yards. HTA held Croxford to just double digits in yardage, with 51 coming in the air and 19 from the rush for 70 yards. The Knights also held Croxford to just two completions out of six on third down.
The starting quarterback for HTA Ben Gutek was a beast in getting four touchdowns and of course, running back Seth Poelzer did what he does best, running the football into the endzone.
Thomas Rowan, Ben Haden, and Jack Bjorge all played big parts on defense for HTA as they held the Cavaliers at bay in the win.
The Medicine Hat Hawks are next up for the Knights on Saturday in what will be the second meeting of the two, only this time it will be in the Provincial quarter-final. Kickoff for the Provincial game is at 11:00 a.m. at Shouldice Field in Calgary.
