A film about an influential German pastor during WWII showcases a new ballad by Christian artist Lauren Daigle.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a German Lutheran pastor, neo-orthodox theologian as well as an anti-Nazi dissident. His life and sacrifice is being made into a movie, Bonhoeffer: Pastor. Spy. Assassin.
When Daigle was asked to write a song for the motion picture, she was thrilled to be part of the project. She had been greatly inspired after reading Bonhoeffer's book, The Cost of Discipleship. Her song "Then I Will" is a moving piece of music that fits the cinematic story of this hero.
"When I was approached about joining the project, I immediately said ‘Yes!’" says Daigle. "Bonhoeffer had unwavering faith, and his commitment to stand up for the vulnerable and speak truth in the face of evil is a challenge to everyone. Are we willing to die for our neighbour?"
Bonhoeffer: Pastor. Spy. Assassin. will hit theatres on Nov. 22 and was created by Angel Studios.
"Lauren Daigle can break and heal a heart with a single note," said writer and director Todd Komarnicki. "I am over every moon about this deeply soulful song."
