According to the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB), its investigators were on the site of a train derailment northeast of Airdrie, near Beiseker, on Friday. However, a spokesperson says the investigation is still in the field phase.
During the field phase, investigation team members generally inform the public of TSB’s deployment to the occurrence site, secure and examine the occurrence site, and examine and photograph the equipment, vehicle, or wreckage. Other aspects include interviewing witnesses and company and government personnel, selecting and removing wreckage for further examination, and reviewing documentation.
The derailment occurred Friday morning, and according to previous reports, no injuries were reported.
"The derailment was isolated to a farmer's field, and no roads [had] been impacted and [were] open. 14 cars containing household goods and empty petroleum cars seem to be impacted. There have been no leaks and no hazards to report," Rocky View County previously stated.
