You can see curbs across the street and not before on the side due to the presence of bioswales this side of the street.

Is the job not done yet?

There's somewhat of a smaller detail about the Saskatchewan Avenue project recently completed that residents have been questioning. Councillor Terrie Porter's portfolio covers that effort, and she says the city's been asked about the avenue completion after having noticed the lack of curbing along some parts of the Avenue.

"20th St. W to Elm Street saw people notice how some curbs aren't in there yet, but that's because of the bioswales. When we have extreme weather and rain, it needs to flow properly down Saskatchewan Ave. and drains into the ditches. That's why they don't have the curbs there. You want the water to go down into the ditches, not having to be diverted because of curbs there."

Also, some have asked the city about "painting" the ground and not laying sods. Porter notes that's not paint, but grass seed, which was implemented instead of laying sods.
