Classes are expected to start again after a pickup truck drove through one of the Holy Cross Elementary School walls.
Holy Cross, located at 300 Dubuc St. in Winnipeg, had a white pickup truck drive through one of their classroom walls on Tuesday shortly after the school was dismissed for the day.
"We have a problem with vehicle speed, size and weight in Winnipeg. It is unacceptable that this truck could be driven into a classroom at Holy Cross," says Safe Speeds Winnipeg on Facebook.
Currently, police are investigating and no criminal charges have been laid.
No injuries were reported as there weren't any students or staff in the room when the incident occurred.
The elementary school didn't have classes on Wednesday, but teachers and staff met at the school to regroup and come up with a plan to move forward. It is expected that school will resume as usual today.
At this time it appears that there was no criminal intent in the incident, according to Const. Dani McKinnon.
