34-year-old woman dead after being hit by vehicle on Chief Peguis Trail

A woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening in North Kildonan.

At around 7:40 p.m. on Nov. 6, officers responded to the intersection of Chief Peguis Trail and Gateway where they found a 34-year-old woman suffering from serious injuries. 

Officers provided emergency medical care until the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service arrived. The woman was transported to hospital in critical condition where she later died of her injuries. 

The 26-year-old male driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and spoke with officers.

The Traffic Division has taken over the investigation. There is no word on charges.
