With Remembrance Day on Monday, Airdronians will have an extra long weekend to enjoy the weather and remember the veterans who fought for our freedom.

Stephen Berg, Meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada, shared what the forecasted weather currently is.

"Saturday and Sunday will be a bit of a dip in temperature (compared to today) but still above normal."

The daytime high for this time of year is two degrees. The forecasted daytime highs for Saturday and Sunday are four and seven degrees.

"Monday spikes up a little bit too high in the plus 10-degree range, so that'll be about eight degrees above normal."

When asked if we could see any rain or snow over the weekend, Berg mentioned we might see something Saturday night, but as of right now, that's it.

"There's a possibility of some rain or flurries, looks pretty clear from then on, so looks pretty pleasant."

The regular overnight low for this time of year is around -9 degrees. Over the weekend Airdrie won't be getting that cold, but will reach the -6 degree range on Saturday.

After the weekend temperatures will return to near-normal with Tuesday and Wednesday forecasted around three degrees as of right now.

This Saturday is Airdrie's Remembrance Day Ceremony, it is taking place at Genesis Place and starts at 10:20 a.m. There will also be a small ceremony at the Cenotaph shortly after.
