With only a handful of Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) benefit dates left for 2024, Airdrie households may wonder what the benefit payment dates are for 2025.
Remaining benefit dates
In November, eligible Airdrie residents can expect the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) on November 20 and December 12, while the Alberta Child Family Benefit (ACFB) is scheduled on November 27.
When will the first 2025 benefits be coming?
The first benefit of 2025 will be the goods and services tax/harmonized sales tax (GST/HST) credit on January 3.
"This credit is a tax-free quarterly payment that helps individuals and families with low and modest incomes offset the GST or HST that they pay," The CRA states on its website.
Subsequent payments will be on April 4, July 4, and October 3, 2025.
The Advanced Canada Workers benefit (ACWB) will be paid on January 10, 2025, July 11, and October 10, while the Canada Carbon Rebate (CCR) will be paid out on January 15, 2025, April 15, July 15, and lastly, October 15.
The CCB will be paid out on January 20, with the following payment dates: February 20, March 20, April 17, May 20, June 20, July 18, August 20, September 19, October 20, November 20, and lastly, December 12, 2025.
The AFCB will be paid out on February 27, 2025, May 27, August 27, and November 27, 2025.
How much can you get in benefits?
The CRA notes that the Alberta Child and Family Benefit (ACFB) is a tax-free payment for families with children under 18. For the period from July 2024 to June 2025, families may receive:
- $1,469 for the first child
- $735 for the second, third, and fourth children
Payments are reduced as family income exceeds $27,024, with partial benefits available for incomes between $27,024 and $45,285.
Additionally, families with a working income of more than $2,760 may be eligible for a working income component, the amount of which varies by the number of children. The amount is reduced if income exceeds $45,285.
ACFB payments are issued separately from the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) four times a year: August, November, February, and May. The Alberta provincial government fully funds the program.
The Canada Carbon Rebate (CCR) amounts will remain unchanged in 2025. The first adult in Alberta receives $225 quarterly, while a second adult can receive up to $112.50. A family of four in the province could see $450 quarterly or $1,800 throughout the year.
GST/HST credit payments are based on your adjusted family net income and the number of children under 19 registered for the Canada Child Benefit and GST/HST credit. For the 2023 base year (July 2024 to June 2025), you could receive:
- Up to $519 if single
- Up to $680 if married or in a common-law partnership
- $179 for each child under 19
The CRA underline that changes in your family's net income, marital status, the number of eligible children, or custody arrangements may affect your payment. The Canada Revenue Agency may recalculate your payment if a reassessment of your tax return or other life changes occurs.
