Premier reacts to US Presidential Election results

Manitoba's premier is striking an optimistic tone on relations with the United States now that the presidential election is over.

Incoming president Donald Trump has proposed 10 per cent across-the-board tariffs, something that has worried Canadian business leaders.

Wab Kinew says he will continue to push the benefits of trade with the US and make the case that Manitoba goods have a lot to offer.

Kinew says Manitoba has a key asset in Gary Doer, a former premier and ambassador to the US who serves as a trade adviser.
