You don't need your hockey equipment to come play with the Cochrane Generals next Friday night.
The Gens are off next weekend after a long-haul this week and are making good use of that time by celebrating with the community.
Come pump up our Cochrane Generals at their huge Pub Night at the Cochrane Lions Event Centre on Fri. Nov. 15. The annual event has become so popular, they've had to move it to a larger venue.
Your $45 ticket gets you a smoked brisket dinner, complete with homemade baked beans, mac and cheese, southwestern slaw and corn bread, a drink ticket, live music, silent auction and a chance to bid in the Players Auction that's been a highlight for years.
The band Sideways Garage is featured and are known for packing the dance floor with a mix of rock and country.
Cocktails at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 and players auction at 8.
Tickets will be on sale tonight at the Gens home game against the Rocky Rams or by contacting the Gens by email at treasuer@cochranegenerals.com.
Gens climbing in the standings
The race continues to heat up in the HJHL south division, and a win tonight by the Gens would close the gap even more.
But it won't be easy with the Rams battling to do the same in the north division.
Last night, the Gens won their second of two back-to-back games on the road against the High River Flyers, 4-2.
Nathan Sheriffs broke a 2-2 tie late in the third, assisted by James Quaife and Jayden Barney, before Brendan Thubron added an empty netter from Ethan Matiece.
Tonight is the lone regular season visit by the Rams.
The puck drops at 8:15 p.m. at Totem One of the SLS Centre.
