Canada White has won back-to-back gold medals at the U17 World Challenge after defeating Canada Red, 3-1, in the gold medal game on Nov. 9.

The team, which includes Cochrane player Riley Boychuk, took a 2-0 lead in the second before Team Red got on the scoreboard later that period. They expanded their lead to 3-1 less than four minutes into the third.

Team White advanced to the final after beating Sweden in the semifinals, 6-4. Team White lost their only game of the tournament in overtime to Sweden in their final game of the preliminary round. Team Red advanced to final with a 7-3 win against the United States. 

Sweden rebounded from a 6-4 loss to Canada White in the semifinals to win the bronze medal for the second year in a row, defeating the United States 5-4 in overtime.

Finland finished fifth and Czechia was sixth.
