Peter Andrew Haslbeck
December 1, 1941 – November 8, 2024
Peter was born to Peter Sr and Catherine (née Schmidt) Haslbeck on December 1, 1941, in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. He was the second of eight children. The family lived on a farm in the Verndale Hills area until moving into Humboldt in 1953. He finished his schooling in Humboldt even while taking on odd jobs to help the family financially. He eventually went to work for a local plumbing company. In 1971 Peter married Doris (née Fouhse) Yager and became an instant Father of a daughter and two sons. The next year another daughter was added to complete the family. Summers were spent camping and fishing, many times with Peter’s sisters’ families. The family camped at many different lakes before Peter and Doris settled in as seasonal campers at Lucien Lake. During the fall seasons Peter loved to hunt and the family enjoyed numerous meals consisting of duck, goose and deer meat. Winters were spent visiting indoors with family and friends, playing cards and board games, as well as snowmobiling in their younger years. Peter worked as the main breadwinner of the family. His career path included working as a plumber, a park caretaker and assembling farm implements, to mention a few of his jobs. He did whatever it took to provide for his family. Peter retired early and this gave him and Doris lots of time to spend with (and spoil) the Grandchildren, and the Great Grandchildren as they arrived. They sold their last camper in 2014 and finished up 40+ years of camping, but they still enjoyed their car rides together. After Doris’s passing in 2018, Peter continued to spend his time driving around and ‘Keeping an eye on things”, until his mobility kept him closer to home. Peter will be greatly missed by his: daughter LINDA (Garry) Kosokowsky, their son, Brad, and children Morgan, Duncan, and Aida; son DEAN (Melanie) Yager, their children: Cole; and Marlie; son MIKE (Shannon) Yager their family: Gwen (Dave) Thiemann, and children: Lexi and Ty; Mike Jr (Paige) Yager, their children: Daniel and Violet; Stephanie (Steven) Frey, their son Ryker; and Marc (Chanae Dosch) Beaurivage, their son Cohen; daughter DEBBIE Haslbeck, and her family: Evan Onufreichuk, children: Bobbie and Andrew; and Austin; his sisters: Mona (Harold) Strueby, Marj Monz, and Donna Stuart; brother Cal (Ingrid) Haslbeck; sister-in-law Eva Fouhse; brother-in-law Roger Davenport; and numerous nieces and nephews.
