The Southwest Facility Foundation recently obtained a more than significant donation from a local family.

After considering the community and its impact on future generations, Mike and Laura Ann Carefoot have pledged $100,000 to the foundation over the course of 10 years.

Travis Cuthbert, a board member of the Southwest Facility Foundation, highlighted that the organization is grateful for such a substantial commitment and continuous community support.

"Mike and Laura Ann Carefoot reached out to us and wanted to get involved with the foundation," he said. " "Both of their kids, Kylie and Jaedyn, grew up in the area and played all sorts of sports in the Swift Current and surrounding region."

Cuthbert noted that Kylie has had an instrumental role in Sundog's Volleyball and the Carefoots are big supporters of sports and recreation in Swift Current.

Mike Carefoot of Simcoe Ag Services said, "The project has garnered widespread support from local residents, businesses, and organizations all eager to see the positive impact it will bring."

The Southwest Facility Foundation's total raised is now more than $2.5 million for the much-needed sports facility.
