The City of Airdrie is welcoming a new green space for residents to enjoy with the soft opening of NE Regional Park on Saturday, November 30.
Located in northeast Airdrie, the park is designed as a community destination for sports, recreation, and cultural gatherings. NE Regional Park’s opening marks the completion of Phase 1A, which focuses on passive recreation amenities such as walking trails and a seasonal skating loop.
The soft opening event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 273118 Range Road 292 Northeast. Residents and stakeholders are invited to explore the walking trail, participate in family-friendly activities, enjoy s’mores by the fire, and visit local food trucks.
"NE Regional Park is an investment in Airdrie’s future, a space where our community can connect with nature and celebrate together," said Mayor Peter Brown. "We’re excited to welcome residents to explore the park and look forward to its growth in the years ahead."
Future phases of the park will include sports fields, cultural spaces, and additional amenities to enhance community offerings.
The park’s official name will be chosen in 2025 to honour the land's heritage.
