The Morden Youth for Christ (YFC) is excited to invite the community to its annual Charcuterie Banquet this Friday at the Christian Life Center. This unique fundraising event combines delicious food, community connection, and an opportunity to learn about the impactful programs Morden YFC offers for local youth. Doors open at 6:45 p.m., with the event beginning at 7 p.m.
Reilly Smith, Ministries Director at Morden YFC, shared his enthusiasm for the event, saying, “This is my favorite night of the year. It’s more than a fundraiser—it’s a chance for us to connect with our partners and share the impact of our work with the community.”
What’s on the menu: Charcuterie and dessert delight
Guests attending the banquet can expect an array of specialty cheeses, meats, gluten-free crackers, and desserts. Jacqueline, YFC’s office manager, has been the mastermind behind these beautifully crafted charcuterie boards. “People don’t need to eat before they show up,” Smith assured, adding, “There will be plenty of food, and everyone will leave full and satisfied.”
For Tristan Klassen, a newer addition to the team, the banquet represents an opportunity for the community to connect on a deeper level. “We want you to know what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and how your support is helping,” he explained. “This night is our chance to show how YFC positively influences the lives of local youth.”
Supporting youth programs with community love
Funds raised during the Charcuterie Banquet will directly support YFC’s various programs, including drop-in nights, guys’ and girls’ nights, mentorship opportunities, and gym programs. Klassen highlighted the importance of these activities, saying, “Having a safe place where youth can be themselves and connect with positive role models is invaluable. It’s not just about a place to hang out—it’s about providing a supportive environment where youth can thrive.”
Smith echoed this sentiment, describing the real-life impact on the youth who come through YFC’s doors: “Our youth are so real with us. They open up, they’re vulnerable, and we’re there to help them grow. The support from the community and local businesses makes this all possible.”
