The Swift Current Broncos can extend their winning streak to five tonight as the host the struggling Moose Jaw Warriors.

Swift Current came from behind to beat the Warriors 4-3 in a shootout on the road last night, with the second half of the home-and-home tonight at the InnovationPlex.

Broncos head coach Taras McEwen talked on the Country 94.1 FM pre-game show last night about putting pressure on the Warriors in their end.

"I think they're struggling to defend in the neutral zone," McEwen said. "Last year their strength was always their rush offence. They're still one of the best rush teams in the league this year, but they're also giving up some of the most rush chances against.

"In their d-zone they haven't been doing a great job of killing plays, so we want to make sure we have good extended o-zone shifts that we're not rushing plays. We want to hold onto the puck and get them running around a bit. Take pucks to the net."

The Warriors have now lost four straight games. They were happy about some of the things they did in last night's game as recounted on DiscoverMooseJaw

“We were sharp, we were moving pucks quick… we hung around and I thought we did lots of good things tonight,” Warriors associate coach Scott King said after the loss.

Jackson Unger made 42 saves against a strong Broncos attack.

“He played a great game for us, gave us a chance,” King said. “He was a bright spot for sure.”

Yesterday's win was Swift Current's eighth in their last nine games.

You can hear tonight's contest on Country 94.1 FM with Redhead Equipment Case IH Broncos Hockey at 6:45pm.

Puck drop is just after 7pm from the Innovation Plex.

It's the final game of the week for the Broncos who have a rare weekend off.
