Anne Curtis (nee Andruski)
February 7, 1934 -November 8, 2024

Peacefully on November 8, 2024, Anne Curtis earned her wings and went to be with the Lord, at the age of 90 years.

Mom was born in North Ridge and grew up there, moving to Portage at a young age. She spent her younger life living and working in Winnipeg. She raised her family in Oakville and Portage.

Mom’s greatest love was for her children and grandchildren. She would do anything for them and was always there for them. When the kids were little, she loved to make them cookies and donuts. Many hours were spent making perogies for everyone in the family. She loved to garden and no one could grow tomatoes like her! Her garden was her happy place and she loved to harvest the fruits of her labour and freeze or can it all for her kids. It didn’t matter that everybody was grown with families., she still went above and beyond to do things for everyone.

Mom made it to the tender age of 90 far exceeding her own “predictions”. She will meet many loved ones in heaven including her parents, Dmytro and Mary as well as her brothers Joe and Stan.

Missing her and holding memories close are her children Debbie King, Darrell (Anna) Barker, Leslie Barker, Cyndi (Lance) Bishop and Karen (Mike) Brown; grandchildren Ryan King, Amber King, Taylor King, Kris (Kara) Barker, Michelle (Daylen) Flette, Jeff Barker, Adriana Minenna, Kurt (Hannah) Peters, Olivia Peters, Natasha Peters, Jesse Bishop, Hannah Brown (Julian), Abby (Garrett) Gall and Josie Brown (Luc); great-grandchildren Ethan, Presley, Sailor, Cane, Miguel and Harlow; sister Stella Torrez; sisters-in-law Gilberte and Shirley; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Anne’s life will take place in the spring of 2025.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Anne’s memory to Prairie Harbour Inc. Box 1541 Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3P1 or Portage Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), 121 12th St. NE, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 4A2.

A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.
