The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for the 30th annual Parade of Lights on November 28, a cherished community tradition set to bring holiday cheer in a fun and community-oriented way.
"It's not new to our community, being around for 30 years," said Monica Osborne, Executive Director of the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce. "We're excited to have the next parade on November 28, 2024."
The parade continues to grow each year, with local businesses and organizations showcasing their creativity. "They have just so much great creative thinking and want to commit to that holiday season, helping us kick it off within our community," Osborne said.
For those new to the event, the parade route will offer ample free parking off the streets to ensure safe viewing. "We do encourage people not to park on the route. The fewer vehicles on the street, the more room people have to view the beautiful sights of the floats," she explained. Spectators can also look forward to treats, with participants handing out candy along the route.
The Chamber is still accepting registrations for floats, and last-minute participants are welcome. "Entries are free," said Osborne. "The more, the merrier!"
In addition to the parade, the Chamber is encouraging local businesses to hold special events to welcome parade-goers. "We hope local residents will support our small businesses while they’re out enjoying the holiday season," Osborne added.
To register for the Weyburn Parade of Lights, participants can visit the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce website at weyburnchamber.com, where a dedicated link for the event is available. Registration is free for all, whether it's for a business, organization, or individual float entry. Those who make a last-minute decision to join are also welcome to show up on the day of the parade simply, and the Chamber will assist in getting them lined up for the event. "The more, the merrier"
This year’s Parade of Lights promises to be a memorable kickoff to the festive season for Weyburn families and friends.
