Woman in hospital after being hit by car in St. James

No charges have been laid following a collision Wednesday evening that sent a pedestrian to hospital with serious injuries. 

Winnipeg police say a woman in her 30s stepped off the curb at Portage Avenue and Tylehurst Street and was struck by an eastbound vehicle.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. 

The woman was transported to hospital in critical condition and has since been upgraded to stable condition, with serious injuries. 
 
Traffic Collision Investigators have taken over the investigation.
