Winnipeg has lost the last three straight Grey Cup championship games.

Nick Arbuckle earned the Most Valuable Player Award for the Grey Cup, stepping in for an injured Chad Kelly as the starting quarterback and leading Toronto to victory, his night ended 26/37 with two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions.

It was a rough night for Blue Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros, he went 15/30 with 202 passing yards and threw four interceptions.

It was a close game through the first half with the Blue Bombers holding a slim 10-9 lead. Winnipeg backup quarterback Terry Wilson had the lone touchdown while Toronto kicker Lirim Harjrullahu provided all of the Argos points with three field goals.

After tying the game early in the second half, Toronto began taking advantage of the Blue Bombers mistakes when Winnipeg punt returner Lucky Whitehead fumble was recovered by the Argos deep in Winnipeg territory.

Kevin Mital gave Toronto the lead with a 17-yard touchdown reception.

Winnipeg answered back with a pair of field goals to cut the deficit down to one point. Arbuckle then led the Argonauts on a 70-yard drive with Dejon Brissett capping it off with a touchdown reception.

On Winnipeg’s next play on offence, Collaros’ pass was intercepted by DaShaun Amos. Harjrullahu added another field goal, giving the double blue a 27-16 advantage.

The Blue Bombers next drive ended off with another interception, this time Toronto linebacker Robert Preister returned it for a touchdown, giving the Argos a three-possession lead.

Collaros' nightmare of fourth quarter continued the next possession as Wynton McManis returned an interception to the Blue Bombers four-yard line.

Ka’Deem Carey finished off the Toronto scoring for the night with a touchdown run.

With the game out of reach, the 2024 Most Outstanding Player and Most Outstanding Canadian, Brady Oliveira scored the last touchdown in the 2024 Canadian Football League season.

Brissett was named the Most Outstanding Canadian for the Grey Cup.

The Argonauts will be holding their championship celebration on Tuesday.

Next year, Winnipeg will host the Grey Cup, as the Blue Bombers attempt to make a sixth straight appearance in the game.
