Cochranites can expect to hear an emergency public alert tomorrow on their radio, TV and smart phone.

The test message is scheduled to go out at 1:55 PM on Wednesday as part of a nationwide test of the alert system.

The exact time of the test will vary depending on the province or territory, according to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC).

The alerts are meant to warn Canadians of potentially life-threatening situations.

Albertans are encouraged to download the Alberta Emergency Alert mobile app to ensure they receive all emergency notifications for their area.
