The Lions Royalty committee and the Cochrane Lions Club are thrilled with the selection of former rodeo queen Breanna Correia as the 2025 Calgary Stampede Princess.
Lions Royalty coordinator Monique Richardson says Breanna is a true ambassador of agriculture and rodeo and believes she'll do a phenomenal job when she becomes the Stampede Princess in January.
"They're definitely some of her passions," says Richardson. "We've seen that as she's helped out with our rodeo, with sponsors, and as a volunteer with the Stampede. She's such a go-getter. She has such a great personality, and she embodies everything that brings people together under rodeo."

Lions president Chris Connon admires how Breanna served as Rodeo Queen for nearly three years while we worked our way through the pandemic.
"She always put everything into it. Her dedication was unmatched throughout it all."
Her involvement didn't end with her reign, Connon points out.
"As soon as she stepped off her reign as queen, she jumped on the committee and wanted to help in any way she could. She chaperoned the ladies at events, and she was in charge of a bunch of the social media, so she stayed dedicated to the program even after her reign as queen, which speaks volumes to who she is as a person."
Connon says her selection as Stampede Princess also speaks to the hard work of the Cochrane Lions Royalty committee. It is made possible by a dedicated and skilled team of volunteers with the support of the Lions Club, and several generous sponsors. He believes it provides the queens with a wealth of lifelong skills.
"I think it absolutely pushes them towards the next step. I think they see where it can take them, and the connections and lifelong friends they can make along the way."
Another recent Lions Rodeo Queen, Kyla Lightfoot has gone on to serve as the 2024 Miss Rodeo Airdrie.
Richardson was the 2015 Lions Rodeo Queen and served on the royalty committee afterward before taking on the role of coordinator.
"I think it does speak a little bit to the phenomenal volunteers in the program that we have in Cochrane," she says. "The not-for-profit rodeo that the Cochrane Lions focuses on giving back to the community does mirror Stampede a little bit in that sense as well. I think it's been a great support system for Breanna to have had the Cochrane Lions behind her when she went for the next title."
