With the landscape starting to look a little more like Winter, Morden is gearing up for its annual tree lighting celebration Saturday night at the Morden Civic Centre.
"I invite everyone to join us this Saturday at the three lighting celebration," shared Mayor Nancy Penner during today's In the Mayor's Chair on CFAM Radio 950. "It all happens at the Morden Civic Centre, and we'll kick off everything at 5:30 p.m. There will be caroling with Isabelle Harder, you can warm yourself up with hot chocolate and s'mores over the fires, and get ready to turn on the Christmas lights on the huge Christmas tree."
The celebration will also include an opportunity to support the Morden Christmas Cheer.
"Morden Christmas Cheer will be accepting donations of toys or books or canned goods and cash," said Penner. "Cash is always the right colour, the right size, so that's always a good option to support those in need at this time during the holiday season."
The Mayor reminded everyone fireworks will end off the evening around 6:30 p.m.
You can listen to the latest episode of In the Mayor's Chair below, which also includes Penner talking about her new Deputy Mayor Doug Frost and an update on the city's curbside composting situation.
