A Cremona man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after a violent incident in the early hours of Nov. 18, 2024. Didsbury RCMP responded to the scene at a residence in Cremona following a call from a complainant in Calgary.
“At approximately 2:30 in the morning, Didsbury RCMP was dispatched to a report of a disturbance,” says RCMP Cpl. Gina Slaney. “The complainant called police and indicated that there was a male in that residence who was attacking two other occupants.”
Upon arrival, officers found an 86-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman suffering from severe injuries.
The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Montana Ronquist, was located in the basement and taken into custody.
“Thankfully, he was taken into custody without too much of an incident,” says Slaney. “Our officers provided first aid to the two injured parties until EMS arrived.”
