Anyone looking to try their hand at Archery has a unique opportunity this Christmas.
For just $15, people can come out to the Colonel Clifton Centre on Tuesdays to shoot with the Swift Current Archery Club. Simply pop by at 7 p.m., pay the price, and their team of experts will help you become acquainted with both the bow and the arrow.
Helping run this promotion up until Christmas Day is Dale Obst, who has been in the club for 65 years.
"Archery is a sport that a lot of people can take part in young," encouraged Obst. "We have an age limit on it that you gotta be at least 8 years old. Other than that? I'm 70 and we've had them a lot older than me even out there shooting."
The $15 also counts towards a membership, should anyone wish to commit to learning the sport and socializing with the club.
The club has seen a lot of fluctuation in size, according to Perry. Anywhere from 15 to 100 people have been involved at any given time.
"If we get enough shooters, we would meet up even more," said Perry. "We keep it open all year round, and shoot on Tuesdays."
Anyone with any questions is encouraged to reach out to the club's Facebook page or to call Perry himself at 306-741-0045.
