Local non-profit, MyCityCare, will be setting up a pop-up shop this weekend where they'll be giving away clothing and winter necessities.
The pop-up shop will be set up in the Great Plains College gymnasium from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. this Saturday.
Tom Weppler, director of MyCityCare Swift Current, encourages those who can to donate old clothing, winter jackets, gloves, and non-perishable foods for food hampers as well as Adopt Families for Christmas.
"We invite everybody to come down, we have a good variety of winter apparel for all sizes and it's open to anyone that needs it," he said.
Clothing and winter item donations can be made until the end of Friday, while food donations will be accepted at the pop-up shop as well.
"Head over to Elite Auto Repair from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., check in at the office there and you can make donations there of non-perishable food items as well as any winter clothing," Weppler noted. "Leading right up to Friday you can bring down winter apparel, gently used clothing, toques, mitts, and winter jackets."
He highlighted that anyone is welcome to stop by the pop-up shop, no questions asked, to find what they need.
"Thank you to the City of Swift Current and the rural area for their generosity," added Weppler. "They've been very supportive and this is a great community that's getting involved."
