Most people in Weyburn waking up having to dig out the snowbrush after the snow and blowing snow yesterday and into the night.

It did create a bit of a drifting situation on the roads around the city including downtown and those winds continuing throughout much of the day today gusting up to 80 this morning. Now, crews from the city of Weyburn were out working on the primary routes starting with First Avenue along with Government Road and 16th Street.

In front of the schools, the elementary schools are secondary routes. Those will be taken care of once the primary ones are finished.

There were travel not recommended advisories on many of the highways this morning such as Highway 35 heading out of Weyburn and as you were coming into town you were greeted by some snow drifts as the winds were coming from that northwest direction.

Some vehicles getting stuck on the roads such as this one just near Weyburn Comprehensive School and on South Hill where ofttimes the brunt of the storm hits It wasn't that bad of conditions, especially along Government Road, although once you got onto the residential streets some vehicles were getting stuck there as well.

Now, crews will continue to work to clean up the mess that was made by the storm and that will take a few days. While it will take a few more days for the snow removal operations to wrap up, the city of Weyburn will be getting ready for more snow with Environment Canada calling for more on the weekend.
