The Okotoks Oilers started their first full season in the BCHL on September 20 at Viking Rentals Centre against a familiar foe, the Brooks Bandits.

With only six players returning to the roster, turnover was expected. Not only have the Oilers brought in a bunch of new faces, but they have also faced off with eight teams they had never played before.

On Friday (Nov. 22), it will mark the ninth team they have played for the first time in their franchise history when the Trail Smoke Eaters head to Okotoks. The eight other teams are the Cranbrook Bucks, Penticton Vees, Salmon Arm Silverbacks, Prince George Spruce Kings, Langley Rivermen, Coquitlam Express, Vernon Vipers and the West Kelowna Warriors.

After 18 games, the Green and Gold hold a record of seven wins and 11 losses. The Oilers now have 36 games remaining in their first full year in the BCHL and will play 19 more times in front of the Green Army.
