A double dose of snowy weather is on tap for southwestern Saskatchewan.
The area received varying amounts of snow on Tuesday and could slightly add to that accumulation on Thursday—with a lot more on Friday and Saturday.
Environment and Climate Change Canada meteorologist Danielle Desjardins said Thursday's system doesn't have much precipitation attached to it.
"Trace, maybe a centimetre or two," she said. "It's a quick little system that tracks across... The system on Saturday is the more potent one. It's a little bit of a clipper system."
According to the Swift Current Research and Development Centre, Swift Current received 8.2 centimetres of snowfall on Tuesday. That figure could easily be matched if not exceeded again this weekend.
"It looks kind of a widespread (system)," she said. "Five to 10, maybe 15 centimetres across southern and central Saskatchewan but there is a little bit of uncertainty as to the timing and track of it just this far ahead."
The well-below-average temperatures for late November are projected to persist for the next week, with lows potentially reaching -20 on Sunday and Monday.
