Road conditions lead to school closures in western Manitoba for second day in a row

This week, a low-pressure system rolled through the province, bringing snow and rain to many areas, with western Manitoba getting hit the hardest.

This has led to icy road conditions on many highways in the area, and ultimately the cancellation of bus service to some schools and the closure of others.  

Find a list of closures and bus cancellations below. 

School closures

• Brandon School Division- Alexander, O’Kelly, and Spring Valley Schools are closed
• Division Scolaire Franco-Manitobaine – École Jours de Plaine, École Notre-Dame de Lourdes, École Gilbert-Rosset and École La Source are closed.
• Pine Creek School Division- All schools are closed
• Portage la Prairie School Division- Hutterian Schools are closed
• Prairie Spirit School Division- All schools are closed
• Southwest Horizon School Division- All schools are closed

Bus cancellations

• Brandon School Division- Buses will not be operating outside the City of Brandon
• Kelsey School Division- All buses cancelled
• Mountain View School Division- All buses are cancelled
• Park West School Division- No buses running for Binscarth, Inglis, Russell and Rossburn.
• Portage la Prairie School Division- All buses are cancelled
