Two women are recovering after being robbed outside of a store in the Polo Park area.
Winnipeg police say on Tuesday, Nov. 19 just before 7 p.m., two women in their 20s were walking near a retail business when they were approached by a man who demanded their personal property. He began assaulting them, striking both of them in the upper body with a large-edged weapon. He then stole one of their purses before fleeing the area.
Both victims suffered minor upper-body injuries and were taken to hospital in stable condition.
The suspect and victims were not known to one another. No arrests have been made.
The Major Crimes Unit is investigating.
