A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a semi driver involved in a collision that claimed the life of a mother and daughter west of Altona last week.

The two-vehicle crash happened on Nov. 15, shortly after 7 p.m. at the intersection of Provincial Road 201 and Provincial Road 306, about 13 kilometres west of Altona.

The RCMP says they believe the semi drive did not stop at a stop sign and struck the other vehicle.

On Nov. 20, 2024, 25-year-old Navjeet Singh was charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death x2 as well as Obstructing a Peace Officer.

Officers have tried to locate Singh in Winnipeg but have not been successful, and as a result, a nationwide warrant has been issued.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mr. Singh is asked to contact their local police of jurisdiction or the Pembina Valley RCMP at 204-822-5469, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477, or submit a secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com.

Pembina Valley RCMP continues to investigate.
