The Postal Strike across Canada has been difficult for everyone and High River is no exception.
The Town of High River is letting people know how to make town payments while the Canada Post mail services see a disruption. If you are having difficulty finding out what is owed on your account, make sure to call the Town at 403-652-2110. Payments can't be made over the phone but information on your account can be accessed.
As for ways to make the payments in High River:
- Pay in person. Provide or request a copy of your bill/tax notice and make your payment (cash, cheque, or debit) with a High River customer care representative at the High River and Foothills Joint Administration Building, located at 309B Macleod Trail SW. The Administration Building is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, closed on weekends and statutory holidays.
- Pay at your bank. Pay at most local banks or credit unions by presenting a copy of your bill.
- After-hours payment drop-off. Place your payment along with the bottom portion of your bill/tax notice in an envelope and drop your payment into the deposit box to the right of the Town of High River doors located at 309B Macleod Trail SW.
- Online. Find out what you owe through the Citizen Self Services portal, and then payments can be made online through most major banks or credit unions. To avoid late charges, allow seven days for processing.
For those wondering why some of their bills such as utility, accounts receivable, and tax statements may have not been delivered through the mail.
The Town said that if you haven't received an expected regular or monthly bill, it's your responsibility to locate and pay what is owed.
