Environment & Climate Change Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Central Alberta with a long period of snowfall expected with total amounts of up to 35 cm depending on your region.
Snowfall will begin in southern Alberta Friday morning, spreading northward through the day.
Snowfall intensity will vary through the day and tonight, with general amounts of 5 to 10 cm anticipated by Saturday morning. Heavy snow will start early Saturday morning, with another 10 to 25 cm anticipated by Saturday evening.
Snowfall will ease and gradually end overnight into Sunday morning.
Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
