Between the three senior hockey leagues in the Weyburn area, there will be 17 games this weekend, with it all starting Friday night.  

Notekeu Hockey League set for busy weekend 

The Notekeu has the most games on the schedule this weekend, with eight. It starts out with four Friday night. 

The Mossbank Blades, undefeated in their first season in the league, will be on the road travelling to Hodgeville. The Huskies will be looking for their first win of the season while Mossbank wants to continue their streak. The Radville Nationals are on the road, making the trip to La Palestre in Gravelbourg to take on the Hornets. Meanwhile, the Rouleau Ramblers will be entertaining the other new team in the league, the Lafleche Flyers. The fourth game of the night has the Yellow Grass Wheat Kings making the trek to Coronach to play the Merchants. It is an 8 p.m. start for all of the games Friday night.  

There are four more games in the Notekeu on Saturday night. The Huskies play their second home game of the weekend when they host the Rouleau Ramblers. The Blades head to Coronach, while the Assiniboia Rebels entertain the Lafleche Flyers. The final game of the weekend has the Hornets hitting the road, going to Avonlea to take on the Arrows. All of the games Saturday start at 7:30 p.m. 

A weekend of intense Big Six action 

The Big Six has five games on the go this weekend, starting with a single game Friday night. The Wawota Flyers hit the highway, travelling to Oxbow to take on the Flyers. That game starts at 8 p.m. 

Saturday night, the Carnduff Red Devils will be at home, hosting the Kipling Windthorst Oil Kings. The Moosomin Rangers will look to remain undefeated on the season as they head to Redvers to play the Rockets. The Midale Mustangs will entertain the Carlyle Cougars at the Harry O Memorial Area in the third game of the night. All three games start at 8 p.m. 

There is just one game scheduled for Sunday, as Wawota will be at home against the Red Devils. The puck drops at 6 p.m. 

Junior C and Senior teams battle for position in QVHHL 

There are four senior games scheduled in the QVHHL this weekend, and five Junior C games.  

All of the action Friday night will be Junior C play, with the Strasbourg Maroons at home against the Wolseley Mustangs. The Kelliher Komets will head to the Star Dome to play the Emerald Park Wizards.  

Things get started at 7:30 p.m. Saturday with the Mustangs taking on the Wizards in a Junior C matchup in Odessa. The other Junior C game has Kelliher playing Strasbourg in Foam Lake.  

The senior schedule opens with the Raymore Rockets at home against the Balgonie Bisons. The Balcarres Broncs travel to Southey to face the Marlins, and the Milestone Flyers will look for their first win of the season in Bethune when they play the Bulldogs.  

On Sunday, the Lumsden Monarchs will entertain the Raymore Rockets at home. The game was originally scheduled to be played Friday but was moved at the request of the Monarchs. There will be one Junior C game, with the Regina River Rates heading to Caronport to take on the Aviators.
