SHE WAS A DIFFERENCE MAKER!
KELSEY RAE DEWIS JANUARY 3, 1985, to NOVEMBER 26, 2024
39 FOREVER.
After a life well lived and an unfortunate illness, we announce the passing of Kelsey Dewis. She loved life and did her best to resist the inevitable.
Our "whiskey in a teacup" girl brought joy to a room with her infectious smile and genuine interest in others. Her kindness was completely instinctive and knew no bounds.
She shunned the spotlight but was extremely perceptive and witty.
Kelsey's legacy will live on through the cherished memories we shared and the lessons in life she taught us. Such as to be humble and kind, non-judgemental, compassionate, be your own best advocate, be resilient and love all beings ... feather, fur and skin.
She will be remembered as being warm, caring, authentic and fun ... qualities we all want in a family member or friend.
Kelsey wove an amazing tapestry of relationships and achievements throughout her life. She was a "prairie girl" at heart but set roots in the Kitsilano area of Vancouver where her business "DEWIS WELLNESS" was established. The loyalty of her clients was earned and appreciated.
She was a strong, determined, legendarily stubborn, private and fiercely independent woman.
Mourning her loss includes her parents BEV and LARRY DEWIS, brother JAY DEWIS, sister-in-law (more like sister) JULENE TOEWS DEWIS, nephews RITTER (10), BECKETT (3) and niece EMERSON (7) all whom she loved deeply.
Kelsey valued the enduring friendships she made in her life as well as extended family ... the cousins, uncles and aunties in the DEWIS, BOOKER, NICHOLSON and CALDER families.
She was predeceased by her grandparents PHYLLIS and PHIL NICHOLSON, FERN and PETER DEWIS, Uncle SYD NICHOLSON, Cousin ADAM CALDER and close friend ANASTESIE (Zie) HACAULT.
Our gratitude goes out to the medical team that did their utmost to make life better for our girl over the past 12 years. You all know who you are and so do we!
Cremation has taken place and Kelsey's life will be celebrated privately. Family internment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
