Jordan Janzen, along with his band The Color, has just finished up over 50 dates of performing with the Newsboys and their next stop will be a Canadian tour in 2025.
"One of the highlights of the whole experience was just, night after night, getting the opportunity to connect," says Janzen. "We'd usually go onto their bus for a little bit and they'd always have bus food for us, which was very kind of them. Those moments where you get to sit down and hear a little more about their lives was a really special thing for us."
The Color as well as Janzen performed their songs in front of a few thousand people many nights.
"The response was really positive. Their average attendance was a lot higher than what we're used to, which was pretty cool. I think the songs have been connecting with people."
The other band members of The Color will be off for the rest of the year, but Janzen is going back on the road with his solo music alongside Cochren and Co. and Rhett Walker for a few weeks in December.
On June 6 The Newsboys will be coming to Winnipeg for a concert at the Centennial Concert Hall, once again opened up by Janzen and The Color on their home turf.
"We really excited about this, to show them the country that we are from and have toured so many times over. They haven't been here for the greater part of 10 years. I grew up going to see the Newsboys and I remember it being an inspiring evening in Selkirk. We're excited to hopefully give that experience to other people."
The Color as well as Janzen will be releasing new music next year.
