Christmas Glow in the Country kicks off December 2nd at Winkler Bible Camp

The holiday season is about to shine bright at Winkler Bible Camp as the much-anticipated Christmas Glow in the Country returns for its fifth year! We caught up with Dale and Candace Wiebe to learn more about this dazzling holiday tradition.

What You Need to Know

Dates: December 2nd–15th (closed December 9th and 10th).
Location: Winkler Bible Camp, just off highway 3.
Admission: Cash is preferred.

The event features 2 kilometers of stunning light displays, with scenes updated yearly. Families can enjoy a safe, affordable, and memorable experience without leaving their vehicles. Candace shared, "We aim to remind people what Christmas is truly about and give them the hope of the season."

Special Highlights

  • Meal Nights: From December 2nd–5th, guests can enjoy herb mashed potatoes, teriyaki chicken, coleslaw, and cheesecake. Meals are available by free-will offering, supporting the camp’s mission.
  • Light Nights: The remaining evenings (December 6th–8th and 11th–15th) focus on the breathtaking displays.

Visitors are encouraged to bring small passenger vehicles due to narrow and potentially icy roads. Larger vehicles, like school buses, may face height and road restrictions.

New this year

One standout display, the Snowman Scene, features creative snowmen made from tires, sticks, and trees. “Our team loves creating something new each year,” Candace noted.

A growing tradition

Last year, nearly 12,000 visitors enjoyed the glow. Dale shared, “People come from as far as Steinbach, Portage, and Brandon, often saying they had no idea this was here!”
