Warren Martin Hinz
October 31, 1955 – December 4, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Warren Martin Hinz announces his peaceful passing on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. He was 69 years of age. Warren was born on October 31, 1955, to Daniel and Marcella Hinz at St. Elizabeth Hospital, in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. He was raised on the family farm southeast of Muenster, SK with 10 brothers and sisters. At a very young age Warren was diagnosed with diabetes, this disease would give him many obstacles and challenges throughout his life, the loss of most of his vision, kidney function and some toes, but Warren never seemed to lose track on just living out his best life. In the late 70’s, he met Joanne Dielschneider, they were married in 1980 and welcomed their first son Christopher in that same year. In 1983 the couple completed their family when they welcomed their second son Daniel into the world. Warren and Joanne lived their married life with their children in Humboldt, he had a few jobs throughout his working career, at Perry and Sons, Taphorn Building Movers and then SARCAN, where he would proudly work for the next 30 years. Over the years Warren enjoyed playing slow pitch with his brothers, sisters and friends, watching his children’s activities, going to Bronco games, spending time with his family, and teasing his many nieces and nephews. He welcomed two grandchildren: Kelsey in 2010, and Ryder in 2013. These two captured his heart immediately and they were his world. Warren and Joanne moved to Leroy for a short while to be in assisted living. After a year, the home closed, and they were moved back to Humboldt. When Joanne moved into long-term care, Warren moved into Wolverine Heights in Muenster where he could be closer to his son. Being stubborn like his father, he managed to live on his own for some time with zero complaints. Warren enjoyed telling stories to his grandchildren and friends who would stop by, visiting with all the neighbours, playing Bingo, watching hundreds of western movies and, of course, watching wrestling. Warren leaves behind: his sons: Christopher (Luciano) Hinz, and Daniel (Nancy) Hinz; his grandchildren: Kelsey and Ryder; his brothers: Larry (Sharon) Hinz; and Rodney (Delphine) Hinz; his sisters: Arlene (Doug) Schmidt, Wanda (Bill) Ross, Jackie (Keith) Klitch, and Melinda Hinz, his sister-in-law Darlene Hinz; and many nieces and nephews. Warren was predeceased by: his loving wife of 44 years Joanne; his parents Daniel and Marcella Hinz, his parents-in-law Peter and Joyce Dielschneider; his brothers: Brent, Melvin, and Dale; his sister Myra; sister in law Jeanette; his nieces: Tracey, and Crystal; and nephews: Brody and Sawyer. The Funeral Mass was held at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Muenster, SK, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 10:00 am, concelebrated by Fr. Demetrius Wasylyniuk, OSB and Fr. Paul Oshin. Others taking part were: Emily Schmidt, crossbearer; Craig Hinz and Curt Van Parys; scripture readers; Arlene Schmidt, intentions; Tiffany Klitch and Samantha Klitch, gift bearers; and Luciano Biscottni, memorial table attendant. Music ministry was provided by Stephanie Alsbach and pianist, Myra Schmidt. Active Pallbearers were Daniel Hinz, Christopher Hinz, Kelsey Hinz, Ryder Hinz, Ryan Klitch, and Mark Schmidt.
