This Christmas season, pets across the Pembina Valley are showing their festive spirit, and one remarkable canine stands out among them: Suka, an 18-year-old Siberian Husky, who lives with her human, Shannon Vaughan. While it’s common for Huskies to live to around 12 years, Suka has defied the odds, and her longevity is nothing short of inspiring.
“Suka is looking good for 18,” shared Shannon Vaughan. “Her eyes are clear, her coat is shiny, and she still enjoys running and jumping in the snow.”
Shannon attributes Suka’s remarkable health to her diet of homemade meals, which include chicken, beef, vegetables, and rice. “She loves broccoli and peas and will even do tricks for her veggies,” Shannon added with a laugh.
Suka isn’t the only Pembina Valley pet embracing the holiday season. From cats wearing Santa hats to dogs posing with Christmas trees, the region’s furry friends are helping spread joy in creative ways.
