Not even the first major snowstorm of the season could slow down the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign in Humboldt.

Last month, the local Tim Hortons finished 9th overall in the country and raised the most amount of money in their region.

Owner Dan Grywacheski says the community spirit was on full display even with the winter weather.

“Didn’t slow us down, lots of support, even if they were stuck in the drive-thru, they were coming in for cookies, it was amazing support.”

On Monday, they presented a cheque of $17,636.50 to the St. Mary's Villa Foundation from the proceeds of the fundraiser, with over 11,000 cookies sold in Humboldt.

Grywacheski says the St. Mary’s Villa Foundation is a deserving recipient of the Smile Cookies Campaign.

“It’s an easy one, it’s a no brainer, they need a new facility badly, this is a good decision and we’re happy to do it.”

Grywacheski also extended appreciation to the team at the Humboldt Tim Hortons for doing a good job of keeping up with the demand of cookies during the week and noted they will be rewarded for the successful campaign

He also thanked the Villa Foundation for helping to spread the word of the Smiles Cookie fundraiser throughout the area.
