The following is the RCMP report to December 8th, 2024. This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.
- 27 traffic violations
- 25 provincial statute (Mental Health Act, Fire Prevention Act, Coroner's Act, 911 Act)
- 16 common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public)
- 11 crimes against property
- 16 other criminal code
- 6 crimes against person
- 7 traffic accidents
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Just a reminder that RCMP DO NOT do child abuse and adult abuse registry checks. RCMP is responsible for criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks. You require a vulnerable sector check if you are in a position of trust. You must present to the detachment when applying for a vulnerable sector check.
Position of Trust means a paid or voluntary position dealing with vulnerable people. Vulnerable people may include children, youth, the elderly, people with physical, developmental, emotional, social, or other disabilities, people who are addicted or dependent on addictive substances, and people who have been the victim of a crime or an accident.
Applicants who require a Vulnerable Sector Check from their organization must present themselves in person and provide written consent in order for the checks to be conducted.
Proper identification must be produced and recorded on the application: a government issued photo identification for the Primary Document, and a secondary document which verifies the Primary identification.
YOUTH CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS
Criminal record checks cannot be done on youth unless working in Government. It has been established that non-provincially or municipally run summer camps and pools, public/private schools including colleges/universities are not government employers.
November 18, 2024
Police received a report of fraud in the RM of Deloraine-Winchester. The complainant noticed unauthorized charges on their credit card. The complainant believed they were talking to the RBC Fraud department however it was a false number. The matter is under investigation.
Police responded to a 911 call for failure to comply with a court order in Killarney. A warrant has been issued for their arrest.
November 19, 2024
Police received a request for a wellbeing check in Killarney. All parties were located safe.
Police received a report under the customs act in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. The matter was concluded.
Police received a report of theft in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.
Police received a request for a wellbeing check in Hartney. Police were unable to locate the party involved. The provided phone number was out of province and there was no answer on call back to the complainant. The matter was concluded.

Police received a report under the municipal by-laws act in Killarney. Police spoke with the complainant and the matter was concluded.
November 21, 2024
Police received a report of fraud in Killarney. The complainant had received a call from someone claiming to be with Stars. The caller told the complainant they had won a sum of money and in order to receive it they first needed to buy gift cards. No money was lost and the complainant was reporting for information purposes only. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police responded to a call for a possible impaired driver in Killarney. Police patrolled the area however the person was gone on arrival. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.
November 22, 2024
Police received a report of fraud in Killarney. The complainant had suspicious charges on their credit card. The complainant was working with their bank and was reporting for information purposes only.
Police responded to a call for disturbing the peace in Killarney. Police followed up and the matter was concluded.

Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Boissevain.
Police responded to a 911 call for an assault in Hartney. A male was arrested and released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.

November 24, 2024
Police responded to a call for a possible impaired driver in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. Police located the vehicle, and a roadside screening device was given to the driver which resulted in a failed reading. An immediate roadside suspension was given to the driver prohibiting driving for 90 days and the vehicle was towed.

Police received a call under the 911 act in Killarney. Police spoke with the complainant and provided assistance. The matter was concluded.

Police received a report of a suspicious person in the RM of Grassland. The complainant was reporting for information purposes only.
Police received a report of a possible fail to comply with a court order in Hartney. Police followed up with the complainant and the matter was concluded without charges.
Police received a report of theft in Boissevain. Police followed up with the complainant and the matter was unfounded.

Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle in the RM of Argyle. Police attended the location however the vehicle was already gone.

Police received a report of mischief in Hartney. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police received a report of an assault in Hartney. The matter is under investigation.
December 1, 2024
Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.
Police responded to a 2-vehicle collision in the RM of Prairie lakes. All occupants were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. A male was also charged and released on an undertaking for failure to comply with a court order. He will appear in court at a later date.
December 2, 2024
Police received a report of mischief in Hartney. Police spoke with both parties involved however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police received a report of harassment in Belmont. The matter is under investigation.
Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Killarney.
Police responded to a call for a suspicious person in Hartney. While on route, police received an update that the suspicious person had left.
Police responded to a call for a suspicious person in the RM of Argyle. Police located the person and vehicle in question. A male was charged for driving while disqualified and arrested under the strength of an active warrant. The male was released with an appearance notice to appear in court at a later date.
December 3, 2024
Police responded to a traffic collision in Boissevain. There were no injuries and police departed.
Police received a report of failure to comply with a court order in the RM of Grassland. Police followed up with the parties involved and the matter was concluded.
Police received a report of a possible impaired driver in Hartney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police responded to a call for mischief in Killarney. A male was arrested and lodged in cells until sober.
Police received a report of failure to comply with a court order in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police responded to a request for a wellbeing check in Killarney. While police were responding they received an update from the complainant that they were no longer required.
December 6, 2024
Police received a report of fraud in the RM of Brenda-Waskada. Someone had accessed the complainants company bank account and e-transferred themselves a sum of money. The matter is under investigation.
Police received another report of fraud in Hartney. The matter is under investigation.
Police received a report of a motor vehicle collision involving an injured deer in the RM of Deloraine-Winchester. Conservation was contacted to locate the deer.
December 7, 2024
Police responded to a call for an assault in Ninette. A male was arrested and released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.

Due to the many reports of vehicle thefts, the public is reminded to secure parked and unattended vehicles and refrain from leaving valuables in plain view.
