“If you come in the store looking for a gift… or something for yourself… and can’t find it, it probably doesn’t exist!”
Impressions Gift Company is open later than ever for the holiday season. Co-owners Mandy and Brad Wilson have stocked their shelves with local Saskatchewan-made and Canadian-made products, as well as plenty of popular items.
“We have some product from the US, but we try to keep it Canadian as much as possible,” Brad shares. “Most everything here you won’t find in other places locally- there’s some overlap, but for the most part, it’s all unique.”
The Wilsons opened the business in 2023 in partnership with a few family members.
“My Uncle owns TWB Home Decor in Emerald Park, so I let my uncle know that this space in Estevan was available to lease, and that he should open up a shop in Estevan for his product,” Brad explains. “He agreed on condition that I manage it. Then in December of 2023, he said he was going to pull out, but we were more than welcome to purchase what was left over and to start our own store.”
Items of note include barnwood signs made locally in Emerald Park by TWB Home Decor, as well as magnet boards, pottery, sweet treats, and Dino banks. The Wilsons pride themselves on staying on top of internet trends, and are proud to carry Hush cooling sheets and Jellycat stuffed animals.
Frequent shoppers will be pleased to hear about the Impressions Gift Company loyalty program. “It’s a very simple program,” Brad says. “The card stays in-store, so you can go find your own when you come in. Bring it up to the till when you’re ready to pay, and every time you purchase something, we’ll write down your subtotal. After the sixth visit, you’ll receive a gift card worth 10% of your total expenditure.”
Mandy adds that once you’ve filled an entire card, you become a VIP member. This title comes with treats and 20% discounts on special days throughout the year.
Since opening, the Wilsons have been amazed by their community’s response.
“It’s been awesome,” Mandy says. “The community has been great. Every time we host an event, we’re absolutely blown away with the support. We’re super grateful for it all, and thankful to everybody that’s been shopping local.”
Impressions Gift Company is open daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with extended hours until 8:00 PM on Thursdays and 10:00 AM to 4 PM Sundays.
