The Humboldt Broncos have dipped into the trade market. 

On Tuesday, they made a deal with the Drayton Valley Thunder of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), with the Broncos acquiring 19-year-old forward Zach Bansley while sending 20-year-old forward Gabriel Filion in return.  

Bansley will be joining his third team this season after splitting time with the Thunder and Grande Prairie Storm. In 17 games this season, he has 11 points (8G-3A).  

The Tisdale, SK product previously spent time in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) with the Melville Millionaires for portions of two seasons (2022-23,2023-24). In 42 games with Melville, he had 18 points (6G-12A). 

Bansley also spent time in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Lethbridge Hurricanes during the 2022-23 campaign. 

Filion was acquired by the Broncos in an offseason trade with the Estevan Bruins. He had 19 points (9G-10A) in 25 games in Humboldt this season.
