A trip to the Wynyard was the cure for the Humboldt Broncos recent struggles against the Notre Dame Hounds. On Wednesday night the Broncos blanked the Hounds 4-0, snapping a two-game skid against Notre Dame.

Defenceman Oakley McIlwain opened the scoring with his fifth goal of the season to provide the lone goal in the first period.

The Broncos extended their lead in the second with a pair of goals, Marik Mamic and Rylan Hue lit the lamp, as Humboldt held a three-goal lead entering the final frame.

Captain Landen Stromme rounded out the scoring in the third period, to make the final 4-0.

Broncos goalie Edouard Gauthier picked up his first shutout with Humboldt, as he made 40 saves.

It was another busy night for Hounds netminder Spencer Borsos as he made 51 saves in the loss.

The Broncos will now try and snap the Melfort Mustangs ten-game winning streak with a home-and-home set this weekend.

Friday night the two teams will meet in Melfort before the rematch takes place in Humboldt on Saturday.
