Western Showdown early results

The women's event at the Western Showdown is now underway at the Swift Current Curling Club.

This morning, Michelle Englot defeated Sherrilee Orsted 6-5 and will face Kerri Einarson in an A-event game this afternoon.

Also, Kaitlyn Lawes needed just five ends to get past Jolene Campbell 9-2, while Chelsea Carey dropped her opening game 10-7 to Danielle Inglis, and Switzerland's Xenia Schwaller defeated Edmonton's Serena Gray-Withers 7-2.

More women's games are set for today with the men's event starting tomorrow.
