Micah Pedersen was taken into custody on Thursday concerning incidents in June and July of this year.

The first shooting unfolded on June 5 in the Windsong neighbourhood, involving two vehicles. Just weeks later, on July 29, 2024, gunshots were fired at residences in the Luxstone neighbourhood, prompting an intensive investigation by the Airdrie RCMP. The result: Pedersen now faces multiple charges, including:

  • Discharge a Firearm while Reckless (x2)
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (x2)
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (x2)
  • Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order (x4)

Pedersen was remanded into custody after a Judicial Interim Release Hearing and is scheduled to appear via CCTV in the Alberta Court of Justice in Cochrane on Tuesday, December 17.

No further details will be released as the matter is now before the courts. The investigation remains open, with potential additional charges pending.
