At 4:12 p.m., the Blackfalds RCMP advised that the highway was open, and normal traffic flow had resumed.
Original story:
On Dec. 13 at 9:27 a.m., the STARS Air Ambulance was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision near Lacombe.
The collision was on Highway 2 northbound from Highway 12 to Highway 2A.
Northbound QEII between Highway 12 and the Junction with Highway 2A was closed.
Traffic was being re-routed east through Lacombe along Highway 12 north to Highway 2A.
Motorists were asked to use an alternate route.
